Makita and Dyson are well-established brands that manufacture different home appliances such as vacuums, heaters, and dryers. Makita is a much older brand established in 1915, whereas Dyson, a British technology company, was established much later in 1987.

Over the years, with technological advancements, better floor cleaning tools have made doing the job easy and comfortable. Whilst Dyson are best known for making vacuum cleaners, Makita are well known for producing a wide range of cordless power tools. One of the benefits of a Makita Stick Vacuum vs Dyson for many is that their batteries are interchangeable with those used for other Makita devices.

The Makita® LXT® cordless system takes you from power tools to vacuums to get the job done. Utilizing 18V lithium-ion slide style batteries, the LXT® system works with 300 + cordless products.

Makita vs Dyson Stick Vacuums

The main differences between Makita and Dyson Stick vacuums come down to weight, performance and price.

Makita stick vacuums weigh less than Dysons because they do not have a motorized brush head. As a result the cleaning performance of the Makita stick vacuums are limited to cleaning surface dirt. They are therefore only suitable for cleaning hard floors or low pile carpets.

On the other hand, the Dyson sticks are suitable for replacing full sized corded vacuums for deep cleaning of any floor surfaces.

Dyson stick vacuums however are much more expensive than Makita sticks.

In this article, we take a deep look at the other similarities and differences between Makita stick and Dyson vacuums and help you choose the best one to suit your need and use. The following models from Makita and Dyson are considered.
